1) Vocabulary warm-up

Match the English phrase with the German meaning.

get up
have breakfast
go to school
brush my teeth
do homework

read a book
go to bed

2) Affirmative sentences

How to build them:
I / You / We / They + verb → I play
He / She / It + verb + s / esShe plays
We use the Present Simple for routines and things we do often.

Exercise B: Write the correct verb form

1. Ella ___ to school by bus. (go)

3) Negative sentences

How to build them:
I / You / We / They + don’t + verb → I don’t play
He / She / It + doesn’t + verb → She doesn’t play
After doesn’t, the main verb goes back to the base form.

4) Questions

How to build them:
Do + I / you / we / they + verb? → Do you like apples?
Does + he / she / it + verb? → Does she play chess?
We can also add question words: What time do you get up?

Exercise A: Choose Do or Does

Exercise B: Choose the best question

1. You want to ask about morning time.
2. You want to ask about Mia and the piano.

5) Short answers

How to answer:
Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
Yes, he does. / No, she doesn’t.
We use do and does again in the short answer.

Exercise A: Choose the correct short answer

Fact: Sam plays football on Mondays.
Does Sam play football on Mondays?
Fact: The children walk to school every day.
Do the children walk to school every day?
Fact: Ben doesn’t drink milk at breakfast.
Does Ben drink milk at breakfast?

7) Writing task

Write about your day. Try to write 4–6 sentences.

Try to include: one time phrase, one negative sentence, and one sentence about another person if you can.

Write at least 4 sentences.
Use one negative sentence with don’t or doesn’t.
Use one time phrase, for example at seven o’clock / after school / every day.
